Premier equestrian training and horse sales in Nova Scotia. Developing confident riders and exceptional performance horses through expert coaching and care.
Our hunter jumper program develops confident, careful jumpers with the smooth, consistent style that wins in the ring. We build from flatwork fundamentals through course work, creating horses that are brave, balanced, and a pleasure to ride.
Every great jumper starts on the flat. We develop balance, rhythm, and adjustability before ever approaching a fence, creating a solid base for jumping success.
Through grid work, gymnastic exercises, and progressive fence training, we develop your horse's technique, scope, and confidence over fences.
We prepare horses for the show ring with focus on pace, distances, turns, and the consistent style that judges reward in hunter and equitation classes.
From green hunters to competitive jumper divisions, we develop each horse with care, building the skills and confidence needed to perform in the ring.
Our hunter jumper program develops confident, careful horses and composed, effective riders. We build flatwork foundations first, then progressively develop jumping skills that translate into consistent, competitive rounds.
Every horse starts with flatwork. A strong foundation on the flat—including adjustability within gaits, straightness, and responsiveness to the leg—makes for a safer, more successful horse over fences. We use gymnastic exercises, grids, and course work to build technique and confidence progressively.
Horses in our program learn to meet fences in balance, jump in good form, and land organized for the next task. We never over-face a horse or drill fences. Quality training produces quality results.
We assist riders in finding the right horse to match their goals, experience, and long-term development.
Whether you are refining your skills or working toward competition goals, our coaching is designed to help you ride with greater confidence, clarity, and connection.

We believe great hunter jumpers are made through correct flatwork, thoughtful progression, and a deep understanding of how to develop both bravery and technique.

Yes. While the skills overlap significantly, the goals differ. Hunter training emphasizes smoothness, manners, and consistent pace. Jumper training focuses on scope, speed control, and technical accuracy. Many horses in our program develop skills for both.
We start all horses with ground poles and cavaletti before progressing to small crossrails. We never jump a horse higher than its flatwork preparation supports. Most horses begin jumping at 18 inches to 2 feet and progress as their balance and confidence develop.
Rushing is usually a sign of anxiety or imbalance, not enthusiasm. We address it through flatwork exercises that improve the horse’s balance and confidence, gymnastic grids that encourage a rhythmic approach, and patient repetition at comfortable heights until the horse relaxes.
Yes. We prepare teams for USEF rated shows across hunter, jumper, and equitation divisions. Show preparation includes course work, competition simulation, and conditioning. We attend shows with our clients and provide coaching on competition days.
We begin basic flatwork with young horses at age 3 or 4, introduce light pole and cavaletti work, and typically start jumping at age 4 or 5 depending on the individual horse’s physical and mental readiness. We also work with experienced show horses of all ages.
A significant amount. We believe that at least 60 to 70 percent of a hunter jumper horse’s training should be flatwork. The flat is where you build the balance, adjustability, and responsiveness that make jumping safe and successful.
