We teach across the full spectrum of English riding including dressage, hunters, jumpers, equitation, and general English pleasure riding. Many of our riders train across multiple disciplines because the foundational skills—correct position, effective aids, and balanced riding—apply everywhere.
Absolutely. We welcome riders of all experience levels. For beginners, we start with basics like correct position at the walk and trot, understanding of aids, and building comfort and confidence in the saddle. We progress at your pace and celebrate every milestone.
The biggest differences are in equipment (saddle type, bridle, reins) and riding style. English riding generally uses more direct rein contact, a two-handed rein hold, and posting trot. However, the fundamentals of good riding—balance, feel, and clear communication—are the same.
Yes. We prepare riders and horses for schooling shows and rated competitions in hunter, jumper, equitation, and dressage divisions. Show preparation covers ring skills, course memorization, class protocol, turnout, and building the mental game needed for confident performances.
We generally recommend starting around age 6 or 7, depending on the child’s physical coordination and maturity. Our youth riders start on safe, experienced school horses and progress through a structured program that builds skills, confidence, and horse sense.
Most riders see meaningful progress with two to three rides per week. Consistency matters more than frequency—regular sessions with focused practice are more effective than sporadic intensive rides. We also incorporate unmounted exercises to develop rider fitness and body awareness.
